"Sea Prayer" by Khaled Hosseini

I first learned about the book "Sea Prayer" by Khaled Hosseini, while I am browsing his Facebook fan page. The book will be released later this year, "to mark the mark the third death anniversary of the three-year-old Syrian refugee, Alan Kurdi, who drowned in 2015 trying to reach Europe amid the European refugee crisis and his body was washed ashore on a Turkish beach."

SEA PRAYER, a new short illustrated book. I am proud to announce the forthcoming publication of #SeaPrayer (UK: 30th August, US: September 18), illustrated by Dan Williams. We are living in the midst of a displacement crisis of enormous proportions. #SeaPrayer is an attempt to pay tribute to the millions of families, like Alan Kurdi’s, who have been splintered and forced from home by war and persecution. It is my hope that this short illustrated book will shine a human light on the struggles and suffering of countless refugees around the planet whose lives have been shattered by violence and persecution. Sea Prayer, intended for Both YA and adult readers, will feature truly gorgeous illustrations by the London based artist Dan Williams. All of my proceeds from this book will benefit refugees through UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the work of The Khaled Hosseini Foundation.
